The first time your lawyer shares a document with using LawConnect, you'll receive an email invitation that will look like:

The email invitation includes the name of the person sharing the document, the firm that they're associated with and any message or instructions they've included. First you'll need to create an account then you'll be able to log in at any time.

• Click View and you'll be taken to the home screen of LawConnect to sign up.
• Click Create An Account in the top left-hand corner.

• Enter your name
• Enter your email address - please ensure you use the same email that you  have provided to us which was used to send you the invite to LawConnect
• Enter your password - we suggest you use a password generator like Strong Random Password Generator (using settings shown in this snapshot below).  Important Note:  A secure password is important as you will be storing your personal details and documentation on this Client Portal:

• Store this password somewhere safe.
• Click Sign Up.
• You'll receive an email from LawConnect to verify your email address.
• Click Confirm My Account to verify your email address for LawConnect.
• You'll then be able to Sign In when you enter your email address and password.

You will then have access to all the documents The Good Will Company has shared with you as well as the ability to load any important documents you wish to keep stored securely which may be required by your Executors or Trustees in the future.  Important Note:  To delete any documents from LawConnect you will need to email us with a request to have that document deleted.  This is a safety precaution to prevent incorrect deletion of documents.

When you open a document in LawConnect it will open it up in a new screen.

You simply double click on a word or double click and drag to highlight a number of words, and then when you release a small blue comment button will come up.  Simply click on that comment button and make the necessary comments then save.

You'll notice a small blue comment bubble in the bottom right hand side of your screen that will show the number of comments you have made.

Once you have finished all your changes, it is hard to see, but up in the top right hand corner of the black screen is a small cross which will allow you to close the window and go back to your LawConnect Dashboard.

Once you close out of the document, an email will be sent to the person who shared the document with you advising them that the document has had comments added to it and outlines those comments.  They can then act on those comments as needed.

The next time you access our Client Portal you'll go directly there and sign in using your email and password you set up in Step 2 above.

When a document is shared with you you'll receive an email as shown in Step 1 above and when you click on that link you'll be asked to login to your LawConnect account to view it.

There will also be times that we will only share documents with you while they are in the drafting process in order to get your feedback and then access will be removed.

At the conclusion of your matter and once your documents are executed while the originals will stored safely in our secure storage, the scanned copies of your Estate Plan, Will, Enduring Power of Attorney and Enduring Guardianship will be made accessible to you so that you are able to view them at your convenience.
